Now that you know your BMR, let’s calculate your activity level. Your activity level calories will be added to your BMR. This result will be the calories you need to consume each day to maintain your weight.
Activity level can be divided into 4 categories:
Sedentary activity - mainly sitting, reading, driving, typing all day Light activity - the above with the addition of exercise in the form of walking, light house work, grocery shopping, but no more than 2 hours total per day Moderate activity - rarely sit during the day or do heavy housework, yard work or brisk walking, moderate exercise for 30minutes or taking about 5000 steps total per day High activity - participate in a physical sport like jogging or mountain biking for more than 60 minutes per day or your job is labor intensive such as construction worker
Your daily caloric needs will vary depending on how active you are for that day.
